welcome Andra,
Violet, I am impressed that you speak (write) the language.
I am so ignorant I don't know what language is spoken in Indonesia.

I think it is the language of the colonizer - Dutch?

Andra or Violet,
pls enlighten me and excuse my ignorance!

Hey, Ellen! I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering where you'd wandered off to. It's great to see yr still here!

When it comes to Indonesian, I'm digging up what little I learnt back in high school. The language is based on Malay and is called Bahasa Indonesia and I used to like learning it coz it didn't have all the annoying grammar rules that French or German did. Because I dropped language in Year 8, I'm pretty much stuck with a vocabulary of about 10 words like selamat pagi ini guru, jalan-jalan, and percakapan. The only other language I ever found that was easier to learn was PIdgin English (which isn't really a language, I guess) which was spoken pretty widely when I was visiting some relatives in New Guinea years ago...

I'm sorry I can not speak english.
but in this forum, I just wanted to add just a friend from another country.

to questions by the Dutch colonized Indonesia, do you know people drive Dutch Indonesia using only sharpened bamboo?
while the Dutch had colonized us to use sophisticated weaponry at the time wrote that?
Indonesia won only use bamboo and Dutch were expelled from Indonesia.

Hi,
I think you speak English fine.
And no, I didn't know how the people drove the Dutch from your land, but I'm glad they did.

Down with colonization everywhere!

Did you know the US is colonized? The US population's collective mind is colonized by advertisers, wall st, corporations and the like. But in this country most of the people don't know it.

Actually the US is colonized by Europeans and others who massacred the native population, wiped out their culture and took their land. And I don't see them leaving any time soon. And you're upset about advertisers?

Advertisers and the infotainment and entertainment industry colonize the mind.

Why do you think the dominant culture of Americans is stupid and passive?

Yes I concern myself with the colonization of the mind.

Ellen, If you're American, you should concern yourself with your country's real crimes, not the imagined ones.
